Dongfang Electric Group, the parent company of Dongfang Electric Corporation (600875), recorded a 9.9 percent year-on-year increase in sales revenue to 37.31 billion yuan in 2009, reports Sichuan Daily, citing a source from the group.
Value-added by the company rose 1.1 times from 2008 to 6.18 billion yuan in 2009.
The electricity volumes generated by power generation units made by Dongfang Electric Group topped the world for six consecutive years.
New orders for coal-fired generation units accounted for 45 percent of total orders in 2009, down from 70.7 percent in 2008. Orders for nuclear power units, wind power units and hydropower units accounted for 23 percent, 15 percent and 6 percent of the total in 2009.
At present, the group has signed or is building 36 power plants worldwide, winning large orders in markets such as Brazil, Saudi Arabia and Botswana for the first time. Dongfang Electric Group has the capability to build large-scale power plants such as AP1000 nuclear islands.
