Broad money supply (M2) totaled 63.6 trillion yuan as of end February 2010, an increase of 25.52 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the People’s Bank of China
(PBOC). The rate of increase was down 0.56 percent from end January.
Narrow money supply (M1) hit 22.43 trillion yuan, an increase of 34.99 percent year-on-year. The rate of increase was down 3.97 percentage points from end January.

The consumer price index (CPI) in February rose 2.7 percent year-on-year and 1.2 percent month-on-month, reports Chinanews.com.cn, citing the National Bureau of
Statistics.
For January and February, the CPI rose 2.1 percent from the same period in 2009.

Fixed asset investment in China increased 26.6 percent year-on-year in January and February to 1.3 trillion yuan, reports Chinanews.com.cn, citing the National Bureau of
Statistics.
Of the 1.3 trillion yuan of fixed asset investment, investment in real estate development increased 31.1 percent year-on-year to 314.4 billion yuan.
