Forty-one Chinese companies went public in January, raising a total of $7.105 billion, reports China Securities Journal citing data from Zero2IPO. Of the total, 37 companies raised $6.88 billion on domestic capital markets and four companies raised $226 million on overseas markets.
Eleven of the companies had received investments from venture capital or private equity; these 11 companies raised $1.02 billion in their IPOs, accounting for 14.3 percent of total proceeds raised. Fourteen companies listed on the ChiNext board for growth companies, raising $1.475 billion, or 20.8 percent of total proceeds. Nineteen companies raised $2.35 billion on the Shenzhen Exchange's Small and Medium Enterprise board, while four companies raised $3.05 billion on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
