Sany Heavy Industry (600031) plans to double its spending in 2010 on its unit which manufactures wind power generating equipment, reports Netease, citing the company’s president Xiang Wenbo.
According to Xiang, the proportion of power generated by wind power in China is less than one percent at present. In developed countries, the ratio is 20 percent.
In 2009, Sany Heavy Industry invested billions of yuan on wind power facilities in Jilin, Jiangsu and Hebei provinces. In addition, it had invested in the building of research and development and manufacturing centers in overseas countries.
