CITIC Securities Emerge As Top-ranked Bond Underwrtier

CITIC Securities (600030) was the top-ranked bond underwriter in 2009 in terms of the number of projects underwritten, reports Securities Times. It was followed by Industrial and Commercial Bank (601398) and China International Capital Corporation (CICC).

According to data from Wind, a provider of financial information, a total of 115 institutions had participated in the bond underwriting business in 2009. A total of two trillion yuan worth of bonds, including corporate bonds, financial bonds, short-term bills, convertible bonds and medium term notes, were underwritten.

In terms of amount underwritten, Industrial and Commercial Bank was the top-ranked underwriter, followed by CICC and BOC International.
