Shanghai Copper Futures Down 320 Yuan

Copper futures for May 2010 delivery traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) ended down 320 yuan per ton from the previous trading session to close at 60,050 yuan on March 9, according to statistics released by the SHFE. Transaction volume reached 8,400 lots. Each lot is equivalent to five tons.

The cash buyer price for copper traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $7,540.50 per ton on March 8, London Standard Time.

The three-month buyer price for LME copper closed at $7,580.00 per ton on March 8. The LME official opening stock was 541,575 tons on March 8.

In regards to copper-related stocks traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Jiangxi Copper (600362) was down 0.03 percent to close at 35.94 yuan on March 9.

Yunnan Copper (000878) was up 0.38 percent to close at 26.10 yuan on March 9 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
