Shanghai Copper Futures Up 300 Yuan

Copper futures for May 2010 delivery traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) was up 300 yuan per ton to close at 60,400 yuan on March 10, according to statistics released by the SHFE. Transaction volume reached 6,446 lots. Each lot is equivalent to five tons.

The cash buyer price for copper traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $7,394.00 per ton on March 9, London Standard Time.

The three-month buyer price for LME copper closed at $7,430.00 per ton on March 9. The LME official opening stock was 538,875 tons on March 9.

In regards to copper-related stocks traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Jiangxi Copper (600362) down 0.39 percent to close at 35.80 yuan on March 10.

Yunnan Copper (000878) was down 0.80 percent to close at 25.89 yuan on March 10 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
