Home appliances producer TCL Corporation (000100) recorded a 15.29 percent increase in operating revenue from 2008 to 44.29 billion yuan in 2009, reports NetEase, citing its Annual Report.
Net profit attributable to shareholders dipped 6.19 percent from 2008 to 470 million yuan in 2009.
Basic earnings per share was 0.1667 yuan. According to the report, the company will not distribute dividends in 2009.
Of the total operating revenue, TCL achieved sales revenue of 42.92 billion yuan, an increase of 14.86 percent from 2008.
Sales revenue from TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings (1070.HK) totaled 26.74 billion yuan. The company's sales of liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs worldwide surged 100.1 percent from 2008 to 8.37 million units in 2009, to be ranked seventh globally, according to a survey conducted by Display Search. Sales of cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs slid 42.4 percent from 2008 to 5.86 million units in 2009.
TCL Communication Technology Holdings (2618.HK) generated sales revenue of 3.83 billion yuan in 2009. Sales of mobile phones rose 18 percent from 2008 to 16.12 million units in 2009.
Sales revenue from the home appliances sector topped 3.12 billion yuan in 2009, with consolidated gross margin of 19.43 percent. Sales of components climbed 1.83 percent from 2008 to 1.20 billion yuan in 2009.
According to the report, TCL Corporation will continue to promote the development of TCL Multimedia and TCL Communication in 2010. In addition, it will find new soures of revenue growth in the medical electronics and recycling sectors.
Separately, TCL announced that it sold 447,000 units of LCD TVs and 406,000 units of CRT TVs in February, up 61.5 percent and 49.3 percent year-on-year respectively.
