Shanghai Copper Futures Down 1,120 Yuan

Copper futures for May 2010 delivery traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) was down 1,120 yuan per ton to close at 59,230 yuan on March 11, according to statistics released by the SHFE. Transaction volume reached 12,024 lots. Each lot is equivalent to five tons.

The cash buyer price for copper traded on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $7,523.50 per ton on March 10, London Standard Time.

The three-month buyer price for LME copper closed at $7,569.00 per ton on March 10. The LME official opening stock was 538,175 tons on March 10.

In regards to copper-related stocks traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Jiangxi Copper (600362) down 1.51 percent to close at 35.26 yuan on March 11.

Yunnan Copper (000878) was down 1.04 percent to close at 25.62 yuan on March 11 on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
